Digital Leisure has announced Mac support for seven of its titles. The company specializes in reissues of classic arcade games developed using laser disc technology.

Digital Leisure general manager David Foster said that his company wanted to ensure that these classic titles could be played by Mac users, since they’re Mac fans themselves.

“It’s exciting to be able to introduce these games that we feel so passionate about to Apple computer owners because we anticipate an entirely new generation of game players to feel the same enjoyment as we did when we first played these games we loved so much in the arcades,” said Foster.

If you’re a 1980’s-era arcade game fan, you’ll probably remember some of the titles in Digital Leisure’s roster: Dragon’s Lair, Space Ace and Dragon’s Lair II: Time Warp, for example. The company said that these titles are compatible with Mac OS X 10.1. All three titles are collaborations between creator Rick Dyer and animator Don Bluth. Bluth’s current works include the motion pictures Anastasia and Titan A.E.

Other titles in Digital Leisure’s stable that play on the Mac include Shadoan, a fantasy-based action adventure game; Mad Dog McCree, a western gunfight game; and the murder mystery Who Shot Johnny Rock. Additionally, the company will also feature a Mac-compatible version of Hologram Time Traveler, a Sega arcade game released in 1991 and billed as “the world’s first holographic video game.”
